LiquidCMS signs long term contract with About.com

LiquidCMS has signed a 6 month contract with About.com (A part of The New York Times Company.) to act as part of their expanding Drupal development team. About.com is one of the 15th most visited web sites in the US.

Work will consist of custom module development and complete site design for various projects including Lifewire.com, ConsumerSearch.com and others.

LifeWire is an online content provider launched by The New York Times Company to create and distribute lifestyle articles to top Web publishers. Consumer Search ranks product reviews and determines which reviews are most likely to be helpful.

About.com is a strong believer in the Open Source concept and will most likely be providing much of their custom Drupal module designs back to the Drupal community. Working for About.com, LiquidCMS has already made the following contributions to the community:

• additions to the diff module
  • provide inline view of differences between revisions
• major additions to the autosave module
  • used to automatically save node content as someone edits in case of browser or h/w failure
• design of new authentication module
  • used by content editors to verify contributed content against plagiarism
  • scours the net for documents that match portions of the node content and then does in depth full page content comparison to see if similarities exist
