Eclipse Live

Under contract from Axionic, Inc. (Ottawa), LiquidCMS has completed work on the Eclipse Live web site. LiquidCMS was responsible for the development and customization of this site - Axionic for the overall project, providing the strategy and planning for the site and also created the slick theme.

Eclipse.org is ".. an open source community whose projects are focused on providing a vendor-neutral open development platform and application frameworks for building software. The Eclipse Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation formed to advance the creation, evolution, promotion, and support of the Eclipse Platform and to cultivate both an open source community and an ecosystem of complementary products, capabilities, and services...".

Eclipse Live was designed as a source of multi-media material about Eclipse projects and Eclipse-based products. Members can register for a live webinar or browse and view webinars and podcasts from the extensive library.

For the Drupal Geeks:

• designed using Drupal 4.7.5
• a sample of some of the modules which made this project possible:
  • CCK, Views, Category, votingapi, event, relativity
• custom modules/code designed for this project:
  • Bugzilla Authentication: custom authentication module to do user authtication off Eclipse's existing Bugzilla database as opposed to Drupal's standard user database.
  • custom AJAX based click through counter module to count clicks to external sites.
  • unique "table" sorting and paging on Views teaser lists (see Eclipse Live archive )
  • use the powerful category module to use icons as category terms to classify resources under such things as language or format.
