Specialty Insurance Agency

Specialty Insurance Agency is a boutique insurance agency servicing performers, vendors, djs and event planners across the United States since 1992. They provide a unique insurance service to over 60k clients.

LiquidCMS first become involved with SIA back in 2018 to help with some minor updates to their Drupal 7 website. The site was poorly architected and in major need of a makeover. In 2019 work started on a complete overhaul of the site architecture while migrating the content into a shiny new Drupal 8 site. OVer the years this has migrated to Drupal 9 and now, currently, Drupal 10. 

The site is key to every aspect of SIA's business. From marketing, ecommerce, policy application and management, insurance claims and more. The site currently has close to 1/2 million nodes and over 70k lines of custom code. The site relies heavily on Commerce, FillPDF, Message and Group modules with numerous custom plugins and enhanced functionality designed for all of these. Some examples include:

Commerce:  

• numerous complex state dependent Fee plugins (see screenshot) built around a custom Fee entity..
• custom administrative checkout flow.

FillPDF:

• multiple patches for new features submitted to the project
• incuding adding Twig support

Message:

• custom mailer class to simply numerous messages sent by the site
• adding Twig support for conditional email templates

Group:

• custom Group plugins for better management of client companies

Site also uses Playwright for automated regression testing.
